Cinnamon And Pear Brioche French Toast Recipe

Preparation time : 5 minutes
Cook : 15 minutes

Ingredients : 
- 1 large pear, pointy end trimmed
- 15 g (½ oz) butter, plus extra for frying
- 2 teaspoons soft brown sugar

For the toast
- 1 large egg
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon caster sugar
- 50 ml (2 fl oz) milk
- 2 thick slices brioche bread

Preparation Method :
1) Using a spiralizer fitted with a ribbon blade, spiralize the pear.

2) Melt the butter and sugar in a large frying pan, add the spiralized pear and cook over a medium heat for 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly caramelized. Set aside.

3) In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg, cinnamon and sugar, then whisk in the milk . Add the slices of bread, leave to soak in the mixture for a few minutes and then turn over and leave to stand until all the egg mixture is absorbed.

5) Melt a little butter in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the bread and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, until golden. Serve immediately, topped with the caramelized pear.
