vanilla ice cream recipe

Ingredients : 
- 1 cup milk
- ¾ cup sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract (see note)
- ½ teaspoon almond extract

Preparation Method :
1) Combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan and heat over high heat for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for 5 to 10 minutes (I do this by putting the pot in the refrigerator).

2) Once the mixture has cooled down, pour it into your ice-cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s directions. Mine say to turn it on and let it go for about 25 minutes.

3) Let the machine do its thing, and as soon as it is thick and creamy, transfer the ice cream to a storage container and store in the freezer.

4) Scoop and enjoy.

Since vanilla extract is the main flavoring in this ice cream, be sure to use a high-quality extract, such as Madagascar vanilla extract.
