chicken (brats) with apple slaw recipe

makes: 5 servings (1 sausage with bun and 1⁄3 cup slaw each)

prep: 10 minutes        cook: 15 minutes

Ingredients : 
- 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 cup finely shredded napa cabbage
- 1 small Granny Smith apple, cored and cut into thin strips or coarsely shredded
- ¼ cup thin wedges of red onion
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Nonstick cooking spray
- 1 12-ounce package cooked chicken apple sausages (5)
- 5 whole wheat hot dog buns

Preparation Method :
1) In a small bowl combine mustard and maple syrup; set aside.

2) In a medium bowl combine cabbage, apple, and red onion. In a small bowl whisk the vinegar, olive oil, and 1 teaspoon of the mustard mixture to blend. Drizzle over cabbage mixture and toss to coat.

3) Preheat a grill pan or griddle over medium heat. Add sausages and cook for 15 to 18 minutes or until heated through, turning occasionally.

4) Serve sausages on buns. Top with remaining mustard mixture and apple slaw.
