Serves : servings

Ingredients :
- 5 ripe Bartlett or Anjou pears (about 2½ pounds), peeled, cored, and cut into ½-inch-thick wedges
- 1 tablespoon minced peeled fresh ginger
- ¼ cup maple syrup (see Tip)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- ¼ cup packed light or dark brown sugar
- ¾ cup chopped pecans
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 4 tablespoons (½ stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature

Preparation Method :
1) Preheat the oven to 350°F. In an 8-inch square baking dish, combine the pears, ginger, maple syrup, and cornstarch, and toss to combine.

2) In a medium bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, pecans, and salt. Knead in the butter with your fingers just until the oat mixture is evenly moistened. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the pears.

3) Bake until the topping is golden brown, the pears are tender, and the juices are bubbling, 35 to 45 minutes. Serve warm.

Tip : If your pears are very sweet, feel free to dial back the maple syrup by a tablespoon or so.
