grandma’s green salad recipe

Serves : 4 - 6 servings 

Ingredients : 
- 2 heads romaine lettuce
- 1 large tomato, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 2 scallions, chopped
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp salt, divided
- Freshly ground black pepper

Preparation Method :
1) Wash the lettuce and thoroughly dry. Tear or chop into bite-sized pieces and place into a large bowl. Add the tomato, carrot and scallions and lightly toss together.

2) Drizzle on the oil, vinegar, ¾ teaspoon salt and a generous sprinkle of pepper. Toss together and season to taste, adding remaining ¼ teaspoon salt if desired. Enjoy immediately.
